About HES
Hatton Elementary School is a public school in the Lawrence County School District that serves PreK-6th grade students. We have approximately 440 students and 50 faculty and staff members. Built in 1961, with the most recent addition completed in 1996, the main building houses 24 regular classrooms, as well as 3 special education classrooms, a well-stocked library-media center, a STREAM lab, and a gymnasium.
Hatton Elementary School is a Title I school that receives funding under Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The goal of the funding is to ensure that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, have access to a high-quality education and the resources needed to succeed academically. This funding is provided to schools with a high number or percentage of students from low-income families. Through this funding, we have been able to provide all students with access to an individual chromebook. We have also equipped all classrooms with smartboards to enhance the learning experience.
The faculty and staff at Hatton Elementary School are committed to providing a nurturing and enriching educational environment for all students. Students are provided with tiered instruction based on their individual needs. The faculty and staff strive to empower students to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners. The school is dedicated to fostering a safe learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported in their academic and personal growth.
